“Never To Be Forgotten” Sgt Jason D. Peto USMC

JASON PETO-page-001Patriot Guard Riders will honor US Marine Corps Sgt Jason D. Peto during the “Never To Be Forgotten” ceremony being conducted at the Ft Vancouver Barracks War Memorial. Sgt Peto, Age 31 of Vancouver, WA, was deployed to Afghanistan and serving with Kilo Company, 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division. On 24 November 2010, Sgt Peto was coming to the aid of a fellow Marine near the village of Jushalay in Helman Province when he was struck by a secondary Improvised Explosive Device.

Sgt Peto earned the following awards/decorations: Purple Heart Medal with Gold Star; Combat Action Medal; Afghanistan Campaign Medal; Iraq Campaign Medal; Navy Achievement Medal; Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom Medals; Sea Service Deployment Ribbon; Global War On Terrorism Service Medal; National Defense Service Medal; US Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal; Marine Corps Achievement Medal and Several Certificates of Commendation. Please join with us as we honor a True American Hero and his family, friends and community. AMVETS Post#16 will be conducting military honors portion of this memorial ceremony.
