“Never to be Forgotten” CPL Jeremiah J. Johnson USA

The Patriot Guard Riders will honor US Army CPL Jeremiah J. Johnson during the “Never To Be Forgotten” ceremony being conducted at City of Battle Ground, “War Memorial”. CPL Johnson, Age 23 of Battle Ground/Brush Prairie, WA, was deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and served with 3rd Battalion, 509th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division.

On 26 December 2006, CPL Johnson was operating as a Gunner while conducting combat operations near Baghdad, Iraq. His team’s Humvee rolled over and was submerged under water. Two of his team members in the vehicle did not survive. CPL Johnson, suffering from hypothermia and other injuries, was rushed to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany. His family were expedited to his bedside and on 5 January 2007 he succumbed to his injuries.

CPL Johnson earned the following awards/decorations: Bronze Star Medal; National Defense Service Medal; Army Good Conduct Medal; Iraq Campaign Medal; Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; Army Service Ribbon; Combat Infantryman Badge; Parachutist Badge and Expert Marksmanship Qualification Badge.
