Community event – S.A.L.T. Picnic

July 22 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm

Free

We are excited to announce that the annual S.A.L.T. picnic is back! The picnic will be held on Monday, July 22nd at the beautiful Lacamas Lake Lodge in Camas. At the S.A.L.T. picnic, your local law enforcement officials will serve a picnic lunch complete with chicken, potato salad, baked beans, rolls, fruit, cookies and ice cream!

This event is a beloved tradition where seniors and law enforcement officers can connect in a relaxed and enjoyable setting.  The last time we held the picnic was in 2019, so we are especially looking forward to this year’s event.  For those who may not be familiar with S.A.L.T., it stands for Seniors And Law Enforcement Together.  The program, which has been a vital part of our community for decades, brings together local law enforcement officers and senior citizens in a unique and engaging way.  The program aims to provide crime prevention education and reduce the fear of crime among seniors.  It also offers valuable information on health and wellness and fosters networking opportunities with agencies that serve older adults.  In addition to events like the picnic, S.A.L.T. hosts monthly seminars on topics such as scams, fall prevention, and dementia.

So, whether you have been a long time participant in the S.A.L.T. program or just hearing about it for the first time, we invite you to join us for this wonderful occasion.  It’s open to all seniors and caregivers in Clark County.  The picnic is free, but donations are graciously accepted.
