Our annual catch and release sturgeon fishing trip is coming up April 28th. As with all Heroes On the Water events it is open and free of charge to United States Military Veterans, Active Duty Military Personnel, First Responders (Police, Fire, EMTs) and their immediate families.

We will be fishing on Swan Island where participants will have the opportunity to catch the largest freshwater game fish in North America from the relative comfort of a sit on top kayak. All kayaks, fishing gear and immersion wear are provided. Coffee, a morning snack, and lunch will be provided.

REQUIRED ITEMS WE DO NOT PROVIDE:

1. A valid Annual Oregon State Fishing License and Combined Angling Tag (harvest card for Salmon, Halibut, and Sturgeon) with a Columbia River Basin Endorsement.
2. Or A Daily Fishing License with a Columbia River Basin Endorsement.
3. A ride to and from the event. Sorry, but Heroes On the Water cannot provide transportation.
4. To help reduce waste and cost please bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated. We will have water for refills.

Please be at the event site at 0830. We will fish rain or shine, and until your arms get too sore or 1500.

We have 12 kayaks available, please book one (free) ticket for each person planning to fish.

In the notes section let us know if you have family members attending that won’t be fishing so we can have enough chow. Also, please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions, or medical issues we should be aware of while out on the water.
